User interface extensions & new functions
User interfaces have been redesigned for SIMATIC WinCC Open Architecture version 3.15. The WinCC OA UI family is comprised of Desktop UI, Mobile UI and ULC UX. The present standard UI has been renamed Desktop UI. It can be installed like an app. The installation package is distributed through the WinCC OA web server and is available for Windows and Linux. The Web Client is now replaced by the Desktop UI. The Mobile UI has been extended to support device sensors (e.g. beacons) and is deployed for mobile devices running iOS and Android. The Ultralight Client UX (ULC UX) is used on desktop PCs for browsers (EDGE, IE, Chrome, Firefox).
New functionalities for optimal user experience
100% responsive applications can be realized using the new layout extensions in the SIMATIC WinCC Open Architecture version 3.15. The new grid layout facilitates simple arrangement of objects within the layouts. Dynamic dashboards can be comfortably realized through inherited layout information and the ability to add symbols to the layout in the running system.
This extension will be released at a later point as a patch.
SCADA system with smart analysis function
The optional SmartSCADA supports analysis of installations through key performance indicators (KPI) along with subsequent optimization using statistical techniques.
Data mining is used to select relevant data from large data volumes whereby relations and dependencies between various process values are recognized and used for further classification. During the classification of the selected data results are linked, conditions automatically recognized, and named by the user. Such analyzed data is used for drafting statistical models. These models can then be used for optimizing the installation, for instance to run efficient cause analysis. This can be done using both historical and real-time data.
In addition to the KPI, data mining and classification functions, SmartSCADA also offers a generic interface to "R" which allows further processing of SCADA system data directly using statistical methods. “R” is a free programming language for statistical data analysis.
SmartSCADA is sector independent and can be deployed for manifold applications including wind power installations, energy supply systems or large production facilities.
With the SmartSCADA option, WinCC OA can be used for root cause analysis, preemptive maintenance, condition monitoring, and much more.
Communication with the field level
The SIMATIC S7 Plus driver supports the Siemens library and communicates with all available controls with new symbolics (S7-1200, S7-1500, ET200SP, Software Controller, PLCSim / PLCSim Advanced). The user benefits from highly secure, high-performance communications and native symbols.
TIA portal data (PLC data) are reused in the WinCC OA wizard using the TIA Portal Export tool. The required engineering data are exported from the TIA portal with a single click and new connections configured.
The TLS Standard is supported as both client and server, allowing the TLS standard to be used as a gateway and integrated in complex architectures within traffic applications.
Using the client capability for OPC UA/OPC DA/Modbus server, which data is to be transferred to which clients can be specified, as well as use of the installation model for selecting data to be transferred to the clients.
