file explorer windows very slow

Post by jonred »

Hi,

I am having a strange problem when using the gedi. every time i have to chose a file (ie. selecting the panel in the topology, the dpl in the ascii manager) the file explorer window opens, but there are no files present. after a while (20-40 seconds), the files and folders appear and i can chose them.
this is making the development very annoying, this is a known bug?, there is solution?
I am using WinCCOA 3.18 and Windows 11 Pro.

Thank you

Dear jonred,

you are using an unsupported operating system.
The supported Windows version for WinCC OA 3.18 is Windows 10.
Second, we only support Enterprise versions.
Does this also happen with your project when using one of the supported operating systems?

I tried to reproduce this with a large number of large files and there was no lag at all.

Yeap, I have the same issue. It takes ages till the file explorer gets populated. I think I have a correct Windows version ;-)....see the attached screenshot.
However, once the file explorer gets open then the next opening is fine.
The issue is the first file explorer opening after UI restart.

It looks like it has something to do with "Microsoft Windows Search Indexer". It uses a lot of CPU resources.
It seems to me that ETM is not guilty this time :-)
